Anarchy Online - how to use GMS as your (inifinite) credit store (Part 3 - fun credit facts)

Anarchy online credits and its limitations can be a source of frustration and discussion. This post is meant to be a reference of its limits.

GMS 3.999.999.999 credits (not locked)

With 3.999.999.999 credits you will be able to interact with the GMS.

GMS 4.000.000.000 credits (not locked)

With 4b credits you will still be able to interact with the GMS.

GMS 4.000.000.001 credits (LOCKED)

When you have more then 4b credits you will not be able to interact in any way with the GMS other then withdrawing credits.

Character credit limit

A common misconception: one Toon CAN carry exactly and maximally 1b credits. The misconception comes from the weird fact that you can only withdraw a maximum of 999.999.999 credits from the GMS.

Organization credit limit

Request an orgs Bank Account balance with "/org bank".

For completeness I'm also including the limit an organizations bank has. The bank of an organization can carry max. 3.999.999.999 credits. Credits can be added to your org's bank by using the command "/org bank add 1". If the credit limit would be exceeded then the command fails to execute without any message.

Anarchy Online - how to use GMS as your (inifinite) credit store (PART 2)

Part two - 55 days have passed

So you have followed my previous post about making a buy order. Smart as you are you ofcourse selected the maximum of 56 days for that order. But now those 56 days have almost passed! O.m.g.!! What to do now?? Should I panic? Should I fret?
NO NEED here's what you do!

Step 1 - create an additional buy order

First off you create an additional buy order, similar to what you did in my previous post. Lets say you made your 2nd buy order for 2b.
End result is, you have 2 buy orders up:
  • The old buy order from about 56 days ago for e.g. 100b.
  • The new and fresh created buy order for e.g. 2b.

Step 2 - withdraw from old buy order

Now what you do, is you withdraw from your old buy order untill you have about 3.5b credits in your GMS Account Balance.

Step 3 - add you new buy order

Raise your newly minted buy order with 3b. Your Account Balance should be somewhere below 1b.

Step 4 - goto step 2

Now you rince-repeat. Go to step 2 untill your old buy order has cleared up. Benefit of this approach is that you dont have to mess with your Mail terminal. Every step you do here should be in the Market Terminal itself. Key here is that you don't raise your balance above 3.999.999.999.
It also helps to withdraw and add your credits in 1b increments; 3b ideally, sometimes a step using 2b works better.

Even though, after you've got the hang of it, this seems quite obvious, I hope this will help someone.

See you ingame!

Anarchy Online - how to use GMS as your (inifinite) credit store

 Hello,

A lot of you people probably know how this works. But some of you are struggling to figure it out. When I heard of this, it also took me a minute to understand how its done.

Well here I go and explain to you guys how a lot of these players handle their many billions of credits in the game we all love: Anarchy Online.

It all starts with a "Buy Order". This actually is a request to purchase an item in the GMS for a certain amount of credits. Because we don't actually want to buy the item but only want to use it for credit storage we will select an item that cannot be sold/bought in GMS's.

Step 1: select an item

In your GMS find a backpack of your choice.
Select the item and press the "Create Buy Order" button

Step 2: create Buy Order

In the following screen fill in a "Price per unit" and a "Units to buy". Set the duration to the max of 56 days. That way your credits are "safe for at least 50ish days. In my screenshot I entered a lower value for demo purposes, but if you have for example at the moment 3b in your GMS you can set "Price per unit" to 1.000.000.000 and the "Units to buy" to 3.
So basically fill in any combination of "Price per unit" and "Units to buy" such that your GMS credit amount is almost 0. I usually do this per 1b or in some cases per 100mil. After that exercise you end up with a buy order up AND near to 0 credits in your GMS.

Step 3: Fill your GMS credit total back up

The next step is to "fill'r up" again. Open up your mail terminal and your piggybanks and raise your GMS credit balance back to near 4b. Please be aware: NEVER raise it to 4b or higher, this locks the GMS up.

Step 4: Raise your Buy Order price

Locate your Buy Order, select it and press "Modify". You can then raise the buy order up by e.g. 3.000.000.000. This will modify the buy order and again draw your GMS balance clear.
Rince repeat Steps 3 and 4 to your delight.

If you do it right your GMS balance will never be 4.000.000.000 or higher and it will not lock.

I hope this helps you understand how to use GMS as your (inifinite) credit store.
In a bit I will make you a post explaining what to do when you reach that pesky 56 expiration date. There's a trick for that too!
